Digital Marketing Specialist (Creative)

We are looking for a creative marketer to help manage our design process. The ideal candidate should describe themselves as a marketing/design hybrid. Although they will be working alongside our graphic designer, advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a must. They should also be well-versed in the art of social media strategy, CX-oriented web design, and creating memorable ads.

There will also be opportunities to work on special first to market projects, and to participate in multiple branding projects across our other businesses.

This position is open to candidates living in Canada or the United States. Candidates residing in Vancouver (British Columbia) will have the option to work in the office, or to remote work. All other candidates will be WFH full-time. The majority of the marketing team currently resides in Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

35%: Improving Creative Direction

  • Work closely with the Marketing Director to improve upon our current creative direction
  • Branding, ads, web design, landing pages, sales material, and special projects
  • Providing in-depth direction to our designers
  • Instill more efficient creative/design processes

25%: Project Polish

  • Making final design adjustments via Adobe Illustrator (heavy use), XD (heavy use), Photoshop (light use)
  • Carefully proofing and editing final delivery

20%: Social Media

  • Creating and implementing a social media strategy
  • Keeping our social platforms up to date as per our content schedule
  • Social ad optimisation and management
  • Present monthly social media ad progress

10%: Copywriting

  • Writing ad copy for creative topics
  • Assist with collaborating with our copywriting agencies on select articles
  • Copywriting for our blog, which may include topics such as: New service features, how-to articles, industry trends, SMS templates, and seasonal articles

10%: Special project assistance + professional development

  • We manage 3 core messaging brands, each with a unique set of service offerings. You will be given the opportunity to diversify your workload depending on your skill set and performance.
  • Depending on your strengths, and how you would like to develop your skills - this component will be customised to suit your professional goals.

Skills, Experience & Qualities

  • 3 years of experience in digital marketing
  • Intermediate Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
  • Experience with monitoring Facebook ad and Twitter ad campaigns
  • Experience with a marketing automation CRM such as: Active Campaign, Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact, HubSpot, Infusionsoft/Keap, Marketo, Salesforce, or Zoho.
  • Genuine passion for the mobile marketing and messaging space
  • Exceptional writing skills (both technical and creative)
  • Experience with monitoring Facebook ad and Twitter ad campaigns
  • Be able to work well in a small team setting

The Nitty Gritty

  • Job type: Full-time contractor
  • Compensation: $64,000 - $68,000 per year (CDN)
  • Time off: 4 weeks paid vacation + 10 sick/personal days. Canadian Holidays.
  • Flexible working hours: Monday-Friday
    (10:00am-6:30pm, 10:30am-7:00pm, 11:00am-7:30pm, 11:30am-8:00pm PST time)
  • Location: Canada or the United States
