Spice up your Valentine's Day SMS campaigns with emojis

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, add some love to your SMS marketing campaigns with an emoji.

Emojis add personality and emotion to the most mundane text messages, and they make them more fun and memorable. Plus, love emojis are some of the most popular emojis in the world.

Here are some interesting stats:

  • People are 4 times more likely to respond to a message with an emoji (Intercom)
  • 3 of the top 10 emojis used on an iOS device contain a heart (Emoji Stats - January 2019)
  • People use 60 million emojis on Facebook and 5 billion on Messenger on any given day (Adweek)

Keep in mind that emojis use Unicode encoding, and they’re bigger than regular characters. As soon as you add an emoji, your SMS switches to support Unicode. Instead of getting 160 characters per SMS, you now get 70 characters, so your message needs to be brief unless you don’t mind going over.

Emoji Keywords

Did you also know that you can create emoji keywords? They function like a regular SMS keyword, but they’re much more creative and fun for your customers. For example, your customers can send you a pizza emoji to opt in to your SMS list. Read more about it here.
